Whether I’m actually looking out the window or working at my desk, there is a constant white glare shinning in my eyes off all this snow . Getting a bunch of snow would seem the standard for the mountains, but this year we have sure seen a bunch. . . more than usual.
With each snow fall, I predicted it to be the last for 2010. WRONG ! And the weatherman keeps showing another front headed our way. Oh well, I’m predicting no snow in March. . . and I better be right !
PLEASE NOTICE: We postponed our Elvis Tribute to March 27. YES ! March will be a great month.

After much snow and many days of freezing cold weather, a decision has been made. We will be basically closed for a few weeks.
Don’t run to get the kleenexes yet. We will be having a few things. Jan 22 is Shatley D Railed. Then in Feb we will be having a couple of Valentines events.
THEN in March we will swing the doors open wide.
We have a bunch of good stuff coming up. I mean GOOD STUFF ! The details are being worked out even as I type this news to you.
Stay tuned and watch the web site schedule.

With winter comes occasional freezing rain and snow. Mountain roads late at night especially with black ice are a little worrisome to all of us.
Guess it is time to set a bad weather policy. That way you will know in advance if our doors are open.
If the weather man is calling for snow or freezing rain and ice the morning of the same day of the event, we will cancel the event.
To be sure, you can call and see what our answering machine is saying. We will post it on the internet, also. Look at the schedule page to see if the event has been canceled.
THANKS everyone for your understanding. We WILL make it thru this winter with a little fun when Mother Nature gives us a break.

Chef Alex has been dubbed the carrot man by Rhonda Vincent. She loved his carrots ! ! ! Now everyone is coming in asking for the Carrot Man.
Well, we’ve all got to be famous for something ! AND YES. . . he makes his FAMOUS carrot dish regularly at the Silver Spoon. Hope you get to taste them. Even if you think you don’t like cooked carrots, these will surprise you.

Is there interest?
We were thinking of offering a complete Thanksgiving Dinner to go. You take it home, warm up, put in your dishes, and serve to your guests.
The tentative plans are for a fried Turkey (or smoked on request), mash potatoes, green beans, gravy, dressing, sweet potatoes, yeast rolls, pecan or pumpkin pie. The cost would run around $10 per person. The basic package will feed 8 people.
So contact us if you think you would like to ENJOY Thankgiving rather than being tired after cooking all day. You KNOW the food will be great ! !

There is only ONE reason for calling ahead. YOUR HAPPINESS !
Here’s the problem:
1) Occasionally large groups reserve sections of the supper club.
2) Occasionally we rent the building for a private event.
If you call ahead, you will not arrive hungry only to learn there are no seats available. So calling ahead is for your convenience.

So you will know. There are several private events booked at the Silver Spoon. When you look at the calendar, you quickly see “private” posted a lot in August, September and October.
Don’t miss the events “tucked” in between these private parties. For instance, Big Daddy Love will be at the Silver Spoon on August 29. If you’ve never seen this band, you really want to come see them.
I love music and it seems I say favorite a lot. . . . but this IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE bands. Their style of music is a little different and their popularity is growing by leaps and bounds.
What style of music is it? Well, it has a little jazz / blues, country, blue grass, soul and a tad of something I can’t describe. So much fun to dance to this band.
